Maintenance Tech

Job Description:

Reports To: Director of Engineering/Director of Operations

Purpose: To maintain the hotel’s customer and heart of house
areas in accordance with company standards by performing
preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary.

Constituents (or Customers): Guests, employees, hotel owners,
Crowne Plaza management team, vendors

Indicators of Success:
• Customer satisfaction & loyalty goals (Guest Satisfaction
scores, guest surveys, annual quality review)
• Completion of projects – on time and on budget
• Adherence to budget

Areas of Responsibility:
• Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing One Step Ahead
service behaviors to exceed guests’ expectations
o Communicates and demonstrates One Step Ahead service behaviors
to other employees (Create Confidence, Encourage Success, Make It
o Communicates and demonstrates the LEAD model of service
recovery behaviors to other employees (Listen, Empathize,
Apologize Sincerely, Deliver a Solution)
• Responds to both customer and hotel staff reports of
non-functioning equipment immediately
o Maintains maintenance log book to record the equipment in need
of repair and prioritizes efforts accordingly
• Maintains rooms in operating condition by performing repairs
as needed
o Understands the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.)
o Prepares preventative maintenance cart for use each day
o Replaces or repairs all appliances and damaged bathroom
fixtures; executes general plumbing as needed
o Maintains overall appearance of rooms; replaces broken mirrors,
hangs fixtures, does touch-up painting, etc.
o Repairs and maintains room’s heating/ventilating/air
conditioning systems
• Performs preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
o Maintains the condition of hotel lobbies and food and beverage
o Repairs furniture, carpet, marble, tile windows, mirrors and
decorations as necessary
o Maintains operating equipment in working condition by
performing routine equipment checks and repairs
o Attends schools or seminars upon manager’s request to remain
current on proper techniques
• Adheres to all hotel policies and safety procedures
o Follows safety and security rules and procedures
o Demonstrates knowledge in the safe use of all maintenance tools
and equipment
o Reports any hazards or injuries in the department or hotel and
takes immediate action to correct
• Ability to perform considerable amounts of physical activity
on a continual basis
