Medical Insurance Specialist

Job Description:

AtWork Personnel is looking for detail oriented and self driven medical insurance claims specialists for one of the areas most prominent behavioral health facility networks. With a large public outreach and continuous growth rate, this position places candidates on a fast track to secure career development in a diverse atmosphere. Due to the nature of this role, candidates must have extensive knowledge of medical insurance (Tenncare/Commercial/Medicare) in relation to proper billing, reimbursement, and follow-up/verification processes. Knowledge in the Behavioral Health field is preferred but not required.

Key roles of this position will revolve the confirmation of procedures covered under patient insurance coverage as well as the accuracy of processed claims. Candidates will be responsible for properly entering/updating client benefit information in billing systems as well as relaying accurate information through the proper channels. Processed claims will be thoroughly examined for accuracy. Regular audits for errors will be performed, after which candidates will be accountable for initiating steps for resolution. Knowledge of insurance structure and process will be utilized to answer client coverage questions.

Job Type: Full Time, Monday to Friday. 1st Shift- 8:00am-5:00pm.

Salary: $15.01 per hour

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Extensive knowledge of insurance in relation to proper billing, reimbursement, and follow up/verification procedures
Understanding of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TN Care's, Medicaid, and Private Pay
Well developed written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge in Behavioral Health field preferred
Responsibilities:

Analyze daily eligibility reports on a daily basis
Communicate with Insurance Verification Team Leader to advise of all issues involving insurance verification
Adhere to all policies related to compliance with State and Federal law
Read and respond to all email correspondence/voicemails in a timely manner
Review CNF's and return an IVF to required staff within a 24-48 hour time frame
Collect all client responsibility balances via cash, check, money order, or credit card and issue receipt for payment or establish payment plans
Pursue unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frames
Utilize problem solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denial, appeals, and collections
