This position will start out working remotely and transition into the office as soon as it is safe to bring employees back to work. Candidate must be local to the Knoxville/Louisville, TN Location

The Medical Policy Claims and Research Agent will perform extensive research to process and or adjust healthcare claims and appeals, using multiple healthcare-related operating systems and tracking tools simultaneously to resolve complex insurance claims issues in a healthcare environment. The Policy Claims and Research Agent will encounter both typical and non-typical Healthcare Claims. The agent will use critical thinking skills to determine when to seek advice or escalate issues when faced with tasks outside of the normal Standard Operating Procedure dictated by the client.
HS Diploma or GED
Minimum 1-year professional work experience with good tenure in roles
Minimum 1 year Microsoft Suite with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Outlook
Strong computer proficiency focusing on multiple systems input
The high degree of critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions regarding the decision to pay or deny claims
Excellent reading comprehension due to the high volume of data required to complete the claims process
Knowledge and experience in any workstream of US health care is also a plus
Strong attention to detail
