Accounting Coordinator

Job Description:

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a full-time Accounting Coordinator Revenue Specialist for ASM/Knoxville Convention Center and World's Fair and Exhibition Hall. This position is responsible for all aspects of client event billing. Posting, verifying, and reconciling accounts receivable data to journals, ledgers, and other records, for use in maintaining financial records for business management. Position is also the primary cash manager, cash-handler, and cash-deposit preparer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Overall management of billing process, including...-Determination that billing is in-line with contract.-Decisions on final bill presentation.-Securing of required pre-final review/approval of all invoices. •Research and resolution of billing/payment discrepancies, as client contact.
•Calculation of F&B credit, per contract.
•Follow-up with appropriate personnel for questionable and/or missing items.
•Interpretation of transaction data entered into booking system.
•Accounts Receivable accounting, including... •Applying customer payments, after independent accounting.
•Processing credit card payments.
•Posting of billings into accounting system.
•Overall management of collections process, including...
•Arrangement/negotiation of payment plans with customers, as needed.
•Sending of monthly past due statements to overdue accounts.
•Overall management of vault and cash event-support function, including...
•Ongoing evaluation of change fund mix, including what change mix to order and when.-Prepares combined weekly deposits.
•Liaison with armored car company, to coordinate off-cycle pick-ups, call-offs, etc.
•Ensures all cashiers have signed cash-handling forms.
•Monitors BEOs, for cash events, and provides weekly summary of events (requiring Finance department support) for staff support assignments.
•Monthly inventory control and related auditing.
•Manage credit card processing control process(leading to PCI compliance)
•Independent verification of monthly liquor inventory count/analysis.
•Perform event Service Desk responsibilities.
•Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
•Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
•B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
•At least three years of general accounting experience, preferably in hospitality industry.
•Must have skill in the use of personal computers and be knowledgeable in MS Excel, Word, and computerized accounting systems.

Computer Skills
•Must have considerable skill in the use of personal computers and be knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized accounting systems.
•Possess knowledge of financial systems •Microsoft Dynamics SL and VenueOps preferred.
