Excellence in Health Care

Ten thousand health care heroes strong--Covenant Health is constantly raising the bar to improve the quality of life and health in East Tennessee.

Covenant Health is a comprehensive, community-focused health system.  Established in 1996 by the consolidation of Fort Sanders Health System, Knoxville, and MMC HealthCare System in Oak Ridge, Covenant Health was founded on the promise of better health.

More than 10,000 nurses, therapists, technicians, employees, volunteers and affiliated physicians deliver on this promise every day.  Their success is evident by the scores of awards Covenant Health has received. In the 2012 IMS Health study to determine best performing health systems, Covenant Health ranks among the top five percent in the nation.  IMS top health systems demonstrate exceptional performance in clinical quality, access to services, information technology, financial stability, physicians, and leadership.

Covenant Health is headquartered in Knoxville and operates hospitals and health care facilities throughout East Tennessee, including seven acute care hospitals; inpatient and outpatient cancer, behavioral and rehabilitation centers; home health; outpatient surgery and diagnostic centers; physician offices, and more.
